What is Suspension Sediment Ceramic Coating?
Well, without completely nerding out on you, the original formulation of traditional ceramic coatings
has suspension chemicals and solvents that can take up to 30-40% of the bottle... (that's alot of real estate to take up in a bottle). A sediment suspension coating eliminates that and you are going to get a more purified version of the coating, that means that the protective elements and chemicals in the bottle are TREMENDOUSLY more concentrated than any other ceramic coating in existence because this new technology holds all of the elements in suspension in a much more efficient way, meaning it will last longer and be stronger.
So when we wipe this product on the surface, you are getting a much thicker more concentrated layer of ceramic protection than... Anything. Anywhere.
The dealership installed products (that are designed to be simple to apply, not durable)? They do not hold a candle to this.
These products have undergone actual laboratory testing HUNDREDS of times against HUNDREDS of brand name coatings and have in these tests blown away everything in the industry.

What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coat covering the surface of your car which also acts as a shield against everyday wear like water spots and bug residue. Since it's ceramic-based, the ceramic coating causes water to bead up and roll off so it allows for easier cleaning and protection to your vehicle.
Professionally installed Ceramic coatings form an ultra-hard surface that holds up better than any other conventional surface finish like wax. Ceramic coatings last for years without any major maintenance, except for periodic cleaning to keep it looking its best.
Will Ceramic Coating prevent scratches?
The short answer is No... if your goal is to completely prevent scratches then ceramic coating isn't the answer you may want to look at a much more expensive PPF Paint protection Film product. PPF is 5x more expensive and does have it's own pros and cons.
Ceramic coating does act as a sacrifical layer and *may* help mitigate minor swirls/marring but it will not completely prevent it and we would not recommend ceramic coating if your goal is to completely prevent scratches.
Will Ceramic Coating prevent rock chips?
No... if your goal is to completely prevent rock chips then ceramic coating isn't the answer, you may want to look at a much more expensive PPF Paint protection Film product. PPF is 5x more expensive and does have it's own pros and cons.
Do i still need to wash my car if it is ceramic coated?
Absolutely Yes! Although a ceramic coating will help keep your vehicle looking cleaner for longer you do still need to wash it.
A ceramic coating will help make the job of washing your car alot easier.

Is Ceramic Coating better than Wax?
Most ceramic coatings can last more than three years without any major maintenance, except for periodic cleaning to keep it looking its best. Waxes only last about six weeks before they begin to wear thin and crack so ceramic coatings are almost always the better choice over wax when trying to preserve the lifespan of your vehicles paint job. Ceramic coatings last for years with proper wash technique and periodic maintenance.
What is the best time to get a ceramic coating installed throughout the year?
Here at Tilbury AutoShine, we have a controlled, professional ceramic coating installation facility that keeps the weather and other contaminants away from your vehicle during its installation. We can install a ceramic coating anytime throughout the year here in Tilbury, Ontario; however, it is best to do it when the temperature is relatively moderate and not freezing or sweltering.
There is no preferable time of the year (Summer, Winter etc) to ceramic coat your vehicle as each season has it's own environmental issues to deal with and getting protection on it as soon as possible is always the best option.
What does a proper maintenance routine for a ceramic coating look like?
This is a very common question, as many vehicle owners who are customers here at Tilbury AutoShine wonder what it takes to keep their ceramic coating looking its best. The answer is rather simple: If you don't like to hand wash the vehicle yourself than bring it to a professional exterior detailer and have them clean the surface once a month. This will ensure you never create swirl marks on your ceramic coating.
Touchless car washes and coin-op car washes are ok to use occasionally but stay away from any car wash that touches your vehicle, abrasion is the worst enemy for a coating.
Additionally, you can maintain your vehicles coating at home with guidance and instruction provided by us when you complete service with us.
Are ceramic coatings scratch-resistant or only hydrophobic?
Ceramic coatings are highly hydrophobic, but they cannot prevent surface damage, such as scratches, swirl marks, paint chipping, or any type of defect as such. Their primary focus outside of increasing your surface gloss is protecting your paintwork from environmental and chemical contamination that may lead to paint stains, oxidation, and fading. If you are looking for more exterior surface durability, consider a paint protection film.
